Alina Herzau’s works deal with relationships – between people, objects, situations and the awareness of oneself and others. She focuses on the dynamics of interaction, the way we communicate and the processes that shape identities. How do we affect one another, how do experiences shape identity, and how does our perception evolve as a result?
Alina Herzau lives and works as an interdisciplinary designer and mixed-media artist in Leipzig, Germany. Her degree in fashion design influences her artistic practice, which is characterized by the combination of analogue and digital elements. By combining pixels, paper and textiles, she explores the interaction between surface, body and space. From analog collages, Herzau creates large-format works that develop digitally – from fragment to surface, from the small to the space-filling.
